Edinburgh’s Hogmanay is the place to be at the turn of the year. Meet and celebrate with old and new friends and enjoy the wide range of entertainment on offer if you’re staying in Scotland’s famous capital. The Torchlight Procession 30 December 6.30pm – aprox. 9.30pm The start of the Hogmanay celebrations, the atmospheric flaming procession moves through the city to Calton Hill before the flames engulf a large boat, with fireworks and music to finish. Phew, some start! Street Party 31 December People swarm to congregate along the length of Princes Street for the street party and midnight fireworks. There’re big screens showing the live music, DJs and performers, and a buoyant atmosphere to keep you in great spirits! Drinks can be taken in but only in a plastic container. Princes Street Gardens Concert 31 December Big bands are always attracted to the concert in the gardens, and this year is no exception!
