A MUST HAVE Resource!
An excellent book for both beginners and professionals to astrology. All of the companion books are highly recommended. Sakoian and Acker are professional astrologers who bring much credibility to the field.

An amazing resource for astrology students
The Astrologer's Handbook is among the best astrological textbooks available. I have the first edition, published in the mid-'70's, and have found it an invaluable tool for chart interpretation. Sakoian and Acker's descriptions of various planetary positions and aspects are extremely accurate. This is far more than a mere "cookbook" featuring pat interpretations based on outworn ideas. The authors explore each aspect and position in depth and give insights into the psychological drives that they entail. Their knowledge of psychology and clear, unbiased writing lifts this text far above most others in the field. Few astrological texts of comparable quality exist; only Robert Pelletier's Planet in Aspect equals (or perhaps exceeds) it. A reader from Silver Spring, MD....Read More

The Only Way To...Learn Astrology : Basic Principles

The Only Way To...Learn Astrology : Basic Principles
by Marion D. March, Joan McEvers

Actual Reader Reviews:

The quickest way...
March/McEvers have put together the fastest way to learn astrology. In addition to the reviews here at, the rave reviews on the inside cover of the book read like a who's who? of modern astrology: Lois Rodden, Robert Hand, Robert Jansky, Karen Hamaker-Zondag. If you're just beginning, or even if your a pro looking to brush up your "basics" this is the no-nonsense way to do it.

Absolutely fantastic book to begin to really learn astrology
This first book in a series of five is a wonderful way to begin learning astrology. A quiz at the end of each chapter ensures that you've learned the appropriate material so that you are able to move on in the lessons. I use it as a reference still today, 10 years later.

The best beginning book on Astrology I've seen
This is a "plain jane" book...no fancy cover, and not very big. It is direct and to the point. It will take you through the basics of astrology in as much depth as any other book I have looked out...but much quicker, with less side trips to confuse you along the way. If you are trying to learn how to interpet birth charts, this book is a Must!
