I don’t leave home without it! I wanted something to carry while I was touring on the Motorcycle. Windows 7 Live Mail is terrific and can meet all your email needs. I am a photographer and during the AK trip took tons of pictures, downloading them all onto the little Toshiba which didn’t blink once. Well I finally received my nb505 orange edition and have had time to really check it out thoroughly. I have the largest Toshiba laptop in the Qosmio and now I have the smallest in the nb505. Once you add RAM and configure it correctly (see cons), it actually becomes very fast. The inclusion of a cut-down MS Office 2010 and Norton 30-day trial is very convenient. My 17″ notebook was in the shop for all sorts of malfunctions, and I happened to see and read reviews of this mini notebook on Amazon. For its size, you get a lot of bang for your buck.

No big problems with it yet, I hope I never run into any. I’d like to keep this baby computer; it’s much more convenient than lugging my full size laptop around. Hopefully Amazon will process a return. I saw nothing in Amazon’s description which indicated that there are two models, but if you check Toshiba’s site, you will see one model with a “(D3)” appended, and one without.

Ditto with the Office Starter. It only includes Word and Excel and not the full versions. I really like Toshiba’s customer service. This netbook is great. The unit has three USB ports as well as an SD card reader for all your photographic and peripheral needs. The keyboard is just what I have been looking for.

I wanted to stay in touch with home base during a recent trip to Japan. I knew I would be moving from city to city, so my laptop seemed too much of a burden.

You don’t need it, but it is nice and didn’t cost much at all. I have decided that when I need to replace my large notebook, I will definitely look at Toshiba first.

Still, for my purposes, which is to tote it on trips, it’s a fantastic little computer and with its decent battery life, it’s a nice alternative to the boring movies that are playing on the plane. I was able to watch 3 downloaded movies without the battery running out.

I really like Toshiba laptops, so the netbook version was an easy choice. Just wish the battery was less heavy and the keyboard less plastic-sounding. If you just need something small that you can use on the go this is exactly what you need. The better than average netbook keyboard really sets it aside from the competition.
