Dean and Dan Caten are Canadian fashion designers and identical twin brothers. They are the creators of Dsquared.

The Caten brothers grew up in Canada to Italian parents, but are now based in Milan, Italy working alongside some of the world most famous high fashion brands.

The brothers first big break into the world of haute couture was when they worked as designers in the House of Versace in Milan and denim brand Diesel.

Soon wanting to design their own collections and make all the creative decisions, they started their very own brand in 1994 and named it Dsquared.

Initially showcasing their menswear collection, they moved into womenswear in 2003, as well as creating a range of underwear for men. As well as clothing, the company has also made forays into footwear, cosmetics and perfumes.

Their clothes are designed with energy and creativity like no other, a stance that is reflected in their runway shows. Many celebrities have been used in their famous catwalk shows, including Christina Aguilera and Rihanna.

Dsquared glasses first came about in 2009, after a deal was made with the Marcolin Group, who also produce glasses for Tom Ford and Roberto Cavalli. The glasses have been a huge success, and are one the company’s most profitable ventures.

Dsquared prescription glasses are inspired by the catwalks of Milan and Paris, and height fashion is definitely a running theme.

The designs are unique; putting twists on classic designs and creating new forms and shapes altogether. The colour of the designs can be a focal point.

Most of the frames are bold and obvious, creating a focal point and drawing attention to the face. Some of the designs, however, are subtle and understated, with a high fashion kick.

A new brand, Dsquared have fast become one of the leaders in the designer glasses market. The designs are like no other, so for the person wanting something completely unique, this brand is the way to go.
